(PRWEB) May 20, 2012

When the owners of an historic estate in Middletown, New Jersey, neighboring similar manors owned by the likes of Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and corporate CEOs, considered options for putting up their property for sale for the first time in over 28 years, the choice was clear: a luxury real estate auction. According to the Middletown estate homeowners (who wish to remain anonymous), luxury auctions offer more value for a sale of such a distinguished property because they drive buyers to take action. This is why their property is set to go up for absolute auction with Supreme Auctions on June 12th with no reserve price.

Built in 1916 by famed architect John Russell Pope, the Georgian style mansion rests on 4.7 beautifully landscaped acres. Pope designed the Jefferson Memorial and the West Building of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC as well as private residences for the Vanderbilts. The home features over 12,000 square feet of opulence, including 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 4 fireplaces and 2 garages across three expansive levels. The property includes a caretaker apartment, sauna, negative edge pool, Jacuzzi, English gardens, a pond and mature trees, boathouse, private boat dock and 250 feet of river frontage on an exclusive stretch of the Navesink River in Red Bank, New Jersey.

In spite of the persisting recession, luxury auctions – in real estate, art and beyond – have consistently offered up strong, if not astronomical returns for sellers over the past few years, as well as exciting opportunities to buyers. From the recent record-breaking auction sales of the Los Angeles Dodgers sports franchise and Edvard Munch’s iconic painting “The Scream”, to an ever-increasing crop of high-end real estate in the world’s most exclusive markets, the timing for this exciting new partnership between local real estate powerhouse Keller Williams NYC and national luxury real estate auction company Supreme Auctions couldn’t be better, according to Maverick Commins, President of Supreme Auctions. “Auctions are a very transparent process for both the Buyer and Seller, the buyers know they are buying at fair market value and the Seller knows exactly when their property is going to sale,” Commins said.

The first of what will be many luxury real estate auctions in the greater New York City and New Jersey area, the Keller Williams NYC and Supreme Auctions partnership first came to pass when Supreme Actions Managing Director Thomas “Tuvia” Sablosky procured the Middletown property for auction. Having done multiple transactions with Keller Williams NYC in the past, the conversation quickly evolved toward discussions of a larger and more long-term luxury auction undertaking at the Keller Williams office – with Sablosky at its head. This new luxury auction division at Keller Williams NYC now joins other Keller Williams offices in Scottsdale, Seattle, San Diego and Austin that too offer a luxury property auction division. Plans are already in the works to open additional luxury auction divisions in Los Angeles and Vail, Colorado. The London, UK office for Supreme Auctions provides international auction services for clients overseas.

The property will be available for viewing prior to auction. For more information, please call 866-929-2243 or visit http://www.supreme-auctions.com.

Frederick, MD (PRWEB) May 17, 2012

The Auto Spas of Maryland are excited about a new vehicle—one that provides clean drinking water to people throughout the world.

In a show of solidarity with the Wash Away Thirst campaign, The Auto Spas will join approximately 100 car wash locations across the U.S. to provide to five million days of clean drinking water to people in need. The fundraising initiative, created in partnership with the Wasrag Water & Sanitation Rotarian Action Group, aims to reduce the proportion of the world population lacking sanitation and clean water.

“Nearly one billion people lack access to clean drinking water and every day, 5,000 children under the age of five will die as a result,” said Ellsworth Havens, Wasrag Development Chair. “We are excited to have a network of community-based businesses to help educate Americans about the critical need for clean water.”

Wash Away Thirst is a one-for-one-for-one campaign, which means that every wash gives one day of clean water to one thirsty person. The Auto Spas will make a donation to Wasrag for every car washed during the campaign. Individuals can support this philanthropic endeavor each time they visit one of the participating Auto Spas from now through December 31, 2012.

“Clean, safe water is a fundamental need around the globe,” said John Gay, Managing Partner of The Auto Spa. “Water safety and conservation are not just industry concerns, they’re global concerns, and this is an opportunity for independent car wash operators to educate our communities and bring clean drinking water to developing countries.”

In the spirit of giving, it truly takes so little to do so much. According to Jim Dudley, the founder of Wash Away Thirst, the program will “provide Americans with the opportunity to make a difference in others’ lives by doing something as simple as washing their car.”

To get to the babies you need to think and act like a hunting jumping spider. Everything is about getting your jump strength and direction and the angle of your silk threads just right.

Rescuing the baby spiders and snatching them from airborne aliens is not the only challenge you will face. Oh, no! Earth has its own collection of nasty bugs. There are acid shooting Spitters, thread cutting Slashers, bone crunching Impalers, opportunistic Crushers and the shockwave inducing Screamers. The game offers you the opportunity to carefully plan how you deal with these creatures. OK, sometimes you will have to be quick but for the most part you can sneak up behind them and … POUNCE!

Your success in the game is based on several factors such as how little energy and silk thread you have used, how well you’ve managed to avoid getting battered by marauding bugs, how many of them you were able to catch, as well as your ability to sidestep the poisoned vines, thorns, charged crystals and meat eating snappers … this is not for the faint hearted.

Seattle-based HEATCON Composite Systems is happy to announce the company’s continued relationship with Hexcel Corporation, an advanced composites leader and a recipient of the 2011 Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award. The relationship strengthens HEATCON’s ability to provide specialized materials for custom composite repairs.

Under the current agreement, Hexcel supplies HEATCON with materials used in custom composite repair kits. More importantly, HEATCON uses these materials to provide customized cuts for repairing and manufacturing composite structures, which lowers costs for manufacturers by helping to ensure excess material is not wasted.

Historically, businesses had to purchase time-sensitive composite repair materials in bulk, which required expensive freezers to store them properly – typically incurring long lead times. These repair supplies included film adhesives, primers, and prepreg materials.

“These items must be kept frozen, which can become a costly requirement because most companies must order much more than they usually need, and still the remaining supplies expire before they are used up,” HEATCON President Eric Casterline said. “HEATCON provides smaller quantity orders so companies no longer have to buy in bulk or store large amounts of material in expensive freezers.”

HEATCON saves aerospace companies money by allowing businesses to buy up to 10 yards as well as single rolls of material, instead of several hundred yards.

HEATCON, a leader in the composites repair industry, supplies materials such as fiberglass, carbon, peel ply and bagging film to aerospace companies and military providers. Composites are used heavily in the manufacturing and repair of newer Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft, helicopter rotor blades and the blades on wind turbines.

HEATCON is one of only a handful of U.S. companies with agreements to provide custom repair materials from Hexcel, one of the world’s largest producers of composite repair supplies. According to Casterline, HEATCON is able to provide custom orders because the firm stocks large quantities of repair supplies in a freezer in Washington.

“Because of our capabilities we’re able to meet customer demands,” HEATCON Sales Director Troy Daman said about the distributor agreement with Hexcel. “We carry pretty much everything that has to do with manufacturing and repair of composite materials.”

“Major suppliers carefully select their distributors,” Casterline said. “HEATCON was chosen partly because of the company’s ability to fill smaller orders. HEATCON currently provides about 100 custom orders per month and we expect to see an increase in custom orders as more companies become aware of the cost savings to be realized by purchasing their composite supplies in smaller amounts.”

HEATCON’s reputation as a leading provider of composite repair technologies along with its prestigious industry certifications enabled the company to extend its relationship as a Hexcel distributor, Casterline said.

About HEATCON Composite Systems

HEATCON Composite Systems is a leader in composite repair equipment, repair material sales and technical services for the composite repair industry. HEATCON’s customers include the commercial and military aerospace, automobile, marine and wind energy industries. HEATCON is considered the foremost supplier of repair products including hot bonders, blankets and supporting accessories. HEATCON is also a global source for training, and has developed basic composite courses consistent with worldwide standards.

Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) May 15, 2012

Solar photovoltaic (PV) demand during 2H’12 will see increasing contributions from emerging markets in North America and Asia Pacific, with 60% of PV demand coming from these non-European regions according to new research featured in the NPD Solarbuzz PV Market Quarterly reports.

This represents an important change for the PV industry, indicative of longer-term trends in which the share of global PV demand stimulated by European countries will decline. While 50% of global demand during 2H’11 came from Germany and Italy, 54% of demand in the final quarter of 2012 is forecast to come from China, India, Japan and the US.

According to Wolfgang Schlichting, Research Director for downstream PV markets at NPD Solarbuzz, “The expansion in global PV end-markets during 2H’12 requires new sales and marketing approaches to exploit the significant revenue opportunities in North America and Asia Pacific. Understanding the changing PV landscape across utility, ground-mount and leasing projects forces a shift in corporate strategies to more diversified downstream business operations.”

Growth in Utility, Ground-Mount and Leasing Projects

During 2H’12, utility-scale projects will accelerate PV growth across North America and Asia Pacific, representing 57% of demand in those regions. To realize projects on-time and within budget, the role of project developers will become increasingly important, especially in accessing finance and coordinating necessary permits and EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) providers. Downstream companies that can provide monitoring, performance guarantees or project maintenance to ensure the quality of electricity delivered will also benefit from this segment growth.

Large ground-mount projects (>5 MW in capacity) across China and India are forecast to dominate Asia Pacific demand during 2H’12. Over 2.2 GW are expected to be completed in Q4’12, ahead of year-end policy expiration dates. The Japanese market was previously comprised of many small local PV installers serving the residential segment, but the introduction of the new FIT in July provides opportunities for system integrators and project developers who can design/engineer, construct, and/or finance large PV systems. Overseas companies that can bring cost-competitive products or services to large-scale systems will also benefit. PV demand in Japan during 2H’12 is forecast to exceed 1.1 GW, representing 74% growth compared to 2H’11.

The expiration of the federal cash grant is a big change to the US market in 2012. Q1’12 was still driven by projects that met the qualifications for the grant at the end of 2011. The most notable effect of the cash grant on downstream channels was the rise in residential PV leasing. Although the impact of the cash grant will decline, more than 60% of 2012 US demand will occur during 2H’12, driven by utility-scale projects towards RPS (renewable portfolios standard) compliance in California and other states, as well as residential lease expansions to the east coast.

European Opportunities Should Not Be Discounted

In 2012, major European markets continue to be impacted by severe tightening of incentive policies and financing restrictions. While the German market was impacted by drastic funding cuts in April, Italy is waiting for a new funding scheme (Conto Energia V) that could dramatically restrict the funding conditions in 2H’12. However, the German and Italian markets are likely to benefit strongly from advancement effects and transition phases.

The decline of the French market in 2H’12 will reflect funding restrictions implemented in 2011. Other markets that will see declines include Spain, Belgium and Bulgaria. Based on current incentive policies, the fastest growing smaller markets over the next 1-2 years will be Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Israel, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. Also, the European market is starting to see more project development activity that does not depend on premium incentives or public funding.

Key European market segment changes from Q1’12 to Q2’12 include a rise in ground-mount share from 28% to 33%, residential share rising from 19% to 22%, and building-mount share declining from 53% to 44%. However, 2H’12 will be characterized by declines in the ground-mount sector due to the shift in policy focus, especially across more mature markets.

The NPD Solarbuzz PV Market Quarterly reports identify specific challenges and potential opportunities for companies that are currently active, seeking to enter, or required to understand global downstream PV channels and demand trends. The reports are strongly data-driven and feature comprehensive analyses of PV policies, distribution channels, investment returns and PV application segments. Dedicated reports are available for Europe, North America and Asia Pacific regions. Each report features extensive market analysis for major PV territories, complemented by key metrics relevant to the emerging growth regions.

Chef Ed McFarland, owner of Ed’s Lobster Bar and the newly opened Ed’s Lobster Bar Annex, got together with Crooked Brook, makers of the “World’s Highest Quality Chef Jackets™” to design and create his latest custom chef coats.

Although his previous chef jackets were made of 100% Cotton Petit Point Pique fabric, Ed wanted a fabric that would be cooler to wear, so they have chosen a 100% white seersucker fabric for his new look.

Chef McFarland has opted for chef coat style M100 with a left chest welt pocket and River Shell buttons.

Unlike Ed’s other jackets, there is no embroidery on this one.

About Chef Ed McFarland, Ed’s Lobster Bar and Ed’s Lobster Bar Annex

New York City native Ed McFarland had never eaten a lobster until he was seventeen, but growing up in a family that was passionate about gardening and good food fostered his love of all things home-grown and delicious.

Ed’s humble beginnings in Staten Island pizzeria kitchens were soon overshadowed as he moved on to work in some of New York’s most esteemed restaurants. He graduated from the French Culinary Institute in 1995 and quickly began learning from some of New York’s best, including Sotha Kuhn at Le Cirque and Dave Pasternak at Terence Brennan’s Picholine. As he began to master cooking techniques, he became drawn to the delicateness and simplicity of seafood and eventually settled down at West Village mainstay Pearl Oyster Bar, where he worked as sous chef for over six years and deepened his knowledge of New England cuisine and Northeast seafood culture.

In 2007, Ed’s long-awaited dream became a reality. Ed’s Lobster Bar is the culmination of his years of study and apprenticeship combined with his family food experiences and dedication to garden fresh produce. Using his own home-grown vegetables and herbs in the summer months and drawing from his Italian heritage for specials like lobster meatballs, Ed has created a truly unique spin on New England seafood.

Those familiar with Ed’s Lobster Bar’s Nolita location will recognize the red lobster painted on the door and white Carrera marble — at Ed’s Lobster Bar Annex where there are two bars, an eight-seater up front and an eighteen-spot raw bar in back; there’s also a twenty-person backyard. The menu offers some Ed’s favorites spun as small plates, including lobster-roll sliders and by-the-piece lobster ravioli, while the raw-bar selection ranges from five kinds of oysters to Littlenecks and shrimp cocktail. Hours will be Tuesday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 2 a.m. and Sunday till 10 p.m., with Sunday brunch beginning after Labor Day. See the menu below and scope our slideshow for a glimpse of the space and the food.

Follow us on LinkedIn – The global market for wall coverings, which includes diverse products such as wallpapers, wall tiles, interior paints, unframed mirrors, and wall panels, is expected to exhibit robust growth in years to come. Post-recession, recovery in the residential construction sector is expected to drive demand for wall coverings, particularly in large markets such as the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. With new product developments and market turnaround in the residential construction activity, the demand for wallpapers and decorative tiles is projected to expand.

Global market for wallpaper was back on the pathway of growth since the start of this decade. New technologies, such as digital printing and new patterns such as faux finishes, paved way for the growth of the segment. Also, with the impact of global economic downturn on the construction industry, consumers increasingly looked towards remodeling interiors instead of purchasing new houses, and wallpaper proved to be a sturdy value proposition for customers against a tough economic condition. In the years to come, it is estimated that new trends, such as introduction of wallpaper cutouts, removable wallpapers, mold-resistant, and low-emission wallpapers, would aid in increasing the demand for wallpapers. In addition to these features, growing concerns over ecological safety of wall coverings have led manufacturers to search for innovative alternatives which are both eco-friendly and efficient. This factor is also expected to play a major role in propelling the demand for wallpapers, and increase the segment’s market share in the upcoming years.

Global architectural coatings market, on the other hand, is exhibiting diverse trends in different regions, with boom in some and very little to nil/declining growth in some regions. Innovation occupies the driver’s seat in the architectural coatings market. Noteworthy innovations playing an important role in the marketplace includes the launch of low odor paints, low VOC products, Chalkboard paints, among others. Apart from innovations, companies are trying to increase market share by adopting various positioning strategies, which play on aesthetic perceptions and emotions of customers. For instance, some players in the paints market are experimenting with customization by allowing customers to mix and choose their shades from large assortments. Others are trying to bring in niche marketing and direct marketing into their business practices to tighten their grip on customer segments. Through these practices, paint manufacturers hope to hold to their positions and come out in ‘flying colors’.

Europe and Asia-Pacific constitute two of the largest regional markets worldwide, as stated by the new market research report on Wall Coverings. Intra-European market for wall coverings has a huge potential. Major exporter of ceramic tiles in the intra-European market is Italy. Quality, design, and technological innovation give a winning edge and are instrumental in vaulting the Italian ceramic tile industry to the top position in the global arena. Italian ceramic tiles enjoy an unparalleled reputation in the mosaic and monocottura tile segments. About 71% of the total production of ceramic tile industry in Italy is exported, and this accounts for 40% of the international trade in the world. Italian tiles are in demand in France, Germany, other European countries, and the US. In terms of the most promising growth potential, Asia-Pacific, backed by China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and others, is the clear winner, and is forecast to expand at a CAGR of more than 4.15% through 2017. China is one of the major producers of building materials and ranks first in the production of ceramic tiles on a global level, with Shanghai as one of the largest commercial centers for the production of building materials. Latin America displays a positive note with booming markets, such as Brazil and Chile, boding bright prospects for architectural coatings.

The Interior Paints segment continues to hold sway as the single largest market. However, with changing consumer preferences, Wallpaper is forecast to make a comeback after years of suspended activity and profits, and register a rapid CAGR over the analysis period. Untapped regions such as Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Middle East, which have traditionally been strong markets for interior paints, display huge potential for future growth and expansion of wall papers segment as well. Wall Tiles market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.42% through 2017.

Key market participants profiled in the report include Crossville Inc., Dal-Tile Corp., Emilceramica S.p.A, Grupo Porcelanite S.A., Internacional de Ceramica S.A. de C.V., Johnson Tiles, Marazzi Group SpA, Brewster Home Fashions, F. Schumacher & Company, Johns Manville, Omnova Solutions Inc., Pacific Wallcoverings Limited, Seabrook Wall coverings Inc., The Designtex Group, Omega National Products, The Sherwin-Williams Company, Duron Paints & Wall Coverings, among others.

The research report titled “Wall Coverings: A Global Strategic Business Report” announced by Global Industry Analysts Inc., provides a comprehensive review of market overview, issues & trends, product overview, recent industry activity, product innovations and profiles of market players worldwide. Analysis and overview is presented for the period 2009-2017 for major geographic markets, such as the US, Canada, Japan, Europe, Asia-Pacific, The Middle East, and Latin America.
(PRWEB UK) 10 May 2012

Farnworth Rose Solicitors, of Nelson, Lancashire, have reported a number of holiday illness compensation claims from holidaymakers returning from the Dominican Republic. The company has now launched a website specifically aimed at hotel guests who have suffered gastric illness in the Dominican Republic.

UK holidaymakers book over 40 million holidays abroad each year and large numbers of people suffer some type of food related illness on holiday, resulting in claims against tour operators who promote hotels in the Dominican Republic and worldwide.

Salmonella food poisoning, Shigella, Campylobacter, and Cryptosporidium commonly causes sickness amongst hotel guests, along with cases of E.coli. Anyone can contract food poisoning but small children, older people and people with weakened immune systems are most likely to suffer serious illness as a result of eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated liquids.

Farnworth Rose Solicitors reports having received an increase in claims for Cryptosporidium over the past two years. The illness can be contracted from ingesting swimming pool water contaminated with faecal matter and which commonly occurs when filtration systems are not functioning correctly.

Some strains of Cryptosporidium are resistant to chlorine and many cases of illness reported worldwide have occurred at hotels with larger than average swimming pools and water parks. Holidaymakers should never swim in the hotel pool if the water smells strongly of chlorine, if the water is murky or if the tiles are slimy to the touch.

Anne Thomson, who has over 30 years´ experience of successfully handling holiday illness claims and who heads our Holiday Claims Department says: “We have received claims from people who have suffered illness in package holiday hotels in the Dominican Republic, many of whom were staying at all inclusive hotels. The most common type of holiday illness is food poisoning caused by poor standards of hygiene and food and common symptoms include severe diarrhoea and sickness.”

“Many all inclusive hotels in the Dominican Republic serve buffet-style meals. If food is not prepared or cooked properly, not served at the correct temperature or not covered at all times, bacteria are likely to multiply quickly, causing illness amongst hotel guests. We would encourage anyone who has suffered sickness at a hotel in the Dominican Republic or elsewhere to contact us as soon as possible.”

“Holidaymakers who become ill abroad should seek medical attention and also make an official complaint to the holiday representative at their hotel. Copies of signed complaint forms should be kept and is also important to keep any prescriptions and invoices which will help a case against the tour operator when they return to the UK.”
